Jesus and Buddha: Friends in Conversation
January 22, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, repeating until March 4, 2020
This six-part series will explore how Buddhism might help Christians answer questions about what they really believe regarding the nature and existence of God, the role of Jesus as Son of God and Savior, life-after-death, prayer and spirituality and healing the world. It will be based on Paul Knitter’s book, Without Buddha I Could Not Be a Christian. Meetings will consist of input from Paul Knitter, group discussions and meditations.
Paul Knitter – Member of Holy Wisdom Sunday Assembly; practicing Buddhist and local teacher for the Foundation for Active Compassion; Professor Emeritus, Union Theological Seminary; widely published theologian specializing in interfaith relations and dialogue.
David McKee (coordinator/shepherd) – Member of Holy Wisdom Sunday Assembly, Oblate of Holy Wisdom Monastery, member of the Midwest Soto Zen Community.
