Benedictine Spirituality: An Introduction
October 27 @ 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm
An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, repeating until December 8, 2020
Program full – we will offer again in 2021
Are you hungering for spiritual conversation? Do you have a general sense of what Benedictine spirituality is and where it comes from but are curious to know more? Join us for Holy Wisdom Monastery’s first completely virtual class. We will meet online weekly for one month, take a two-week break for reflection and integration, then pick up again for four more weeks. Topics covered include Benedict and his ‘little Rule for beginners,’ silence, listening, prayer, humility, scripture and more. Each class will include prayer, readings, discussion, a spiritual practice and Q & A. As this is our first time to try this, a spirit of adventure and forgiveness are requirements for the course! Class size is limited to 24. The same class will be offered again in 2021.
There is no program fee for this 8-week study of Benedictine spirituality. The administrative and technology costs are being underwritten by oblate Jane Ayer. At the end of the program, if you have valued and benefited from your time in this class, you will have the opportunity to make a donation, according to your means, to help sponsor future attendees in the coming course.
- Sister Denise West is a first professed sister of Holy Wisdom Monastery
- David McKee is an oblate of Holy Wisdom Monastery and Sunday Assembly homilist
Closed – this program is full, but will be offered again in 2021
