Your day, our peaceful setting
Holy Wisdom Monastery provides a beautiful environment inside and out for weddings and ceremonies. Both members of our worshiping community and non members alike can hold their ceremony at the monastery.
Ceremony & reception venue in Madison, WI
Holy Wisdom Monastery is located in Middleton, Wisconsin, just 20 minutes from downtown Madison. Our buildings are surrounded by over 130 acres of restored prairie, woods, orchards and gardens, which provide a peaceful, beautiful setting for your big day. View photos below, and learn more about our venue and holding your wedding at Holy Wisdom Monastery.
Planning your ceremony
Couples make their own arrangement for an officiant. Our wedding coordinator can provide a list of officiants from various denominations. Couples are invited to provide their own musicians and personalized music selections to make the day unique.
We offer 4 hour time blocks for ceremonies:
- 10:00 am-2:00 pm
- 3:00-7:00 pm
Couples may schedule the ceremony any day of the week if the requested space is available. Rehearsals are usually scheduled for the evening preceding the ceremony.
Please note: Weddings are not scheduled at Holy Wisdom Monastery during Holy Week (the week leading up to Easter), on Easter Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
The Assembly Room seats up to 300. For ceremonies under 50 guests, a smaller space is available. We also have outdoor locations on the monastery grounds that are perfect for ceremonies for between 50 and 300 guests. A comparable indoor space is reserved for the couple at no additional cost should the weather turn rainy.
On-site wedding coordinator
From an initial tour, to meeting with couples prior to the wedding, coordinating the rehearsal and the ceremony, our on-site wedding coordinator provides the expertise and support to ensure that your day is special.
To maintain the peaceful setting of the monastery for all guests, receptions must end no later than 8:00 pm. Additional fees apply for receptions and are detailed in the reception guide available from the wedding coordinator.
