Bearing With One Another
Led by Trisha Day

St. Benedict says, quoting scripture (Romans 12:10), that we should each be the first to show respect to the other. Easier said than done—especially when there are things about the “other” that irritate, frustrate and annoy us. This presentation will take a look at what we need to keep in mind about doing the loving thing, even when we’d rather not. (Warning: This presentation contains adult content and strong language.)

A member of Sunday Assembly at Holy Wisdom Monastery, Trisha Day is also a Lay Cistercian associated with New Melleray and Mississippi Abbeys near Dubuque, Iowa. She is the author of Inside the School of Charity–Lessons from the Monastery.

Listening to My Life
Led by Claudia Greco

St. Benedict suggests that we listen with the ear of the heart. One way we engage this listening is by way of the ancient practice of lectio divina. Here we are able to access the eternal moment in which Love speaks to us through our lives.

Claudia Greco is an Oblate of Holy Wisdom Monastery, holds a certificate from the Spiritual Guidance Training Program in Racine, is certified as a LifeForce Yoga Practitioner, and as a Reiki Practitioner.

Simplicity—One Way to Benedictine Spirituality
Led by Barb Abbott

Abandoning “clutter” in our lives leads to human freedom and the Benedictine qualities of harmony and balance. Simplicity helps us learn to use what we are and what we have for the good of others.

Barb Abbott is an Oblate of Holy Wisdom Monastery and a member of the Sunday Assembly community at Holy Wisdom Monastery.
