Monastic Life

- Is your heart longing for God?
- Do you want to live a life in service to others?
- Are you drawn to explore community living?
We invite single women of any Christian tradition to explore life with us. As a member of this community, you embrace Benedictine spirituality and keep your denomination. Living in community is a life-giving experience for us, a journey of the heart.
Reflect on these questions as you consider your call to community:
- Are you a single Christian woman?
- Are you a woman who desires to deepen your spiritual life?
- Would you like to live with other women who are faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
- Are you open to learning? To loving and serving others?
- Are you willing to be challenged to grow?
If you respond “yes” to these questions, this may be a community where you will thrive. We encourage you to explore further.
You can sample a taste of life in our inclusive Benedictine community in a variety of ways:
- Come for an informal visit and tour.
- Come on a personal retreat.
- Join in prayer at the Liturgy of the Hours or for Centering Prayer.
- Meet with a spiritual guide at the monastery.
- Participate in an Exploring Community retreat.
- Apply for our summer internship: Volunteer in Community.
- Apply to become a Benedictine Sojourner, a 6-12 month experience.
- Volunteer at Holy Wisdom Monastery.
