Holy Wisdom Monastery provides a beautiful environment inside and out for weddings and ceremonies. Both members of our worshipping community and non members alike can hold their ceremony at the monastery.

The monastery assembly room seats 300 guests, and the smaller garden room in our retreat and guest house is ideal for weddings for 50 people or less. We also have several locations outside on the grounds or in the monastery garden which are perfect for ceremonies. If a couple decides they would like to hold their ceremony outside, but the weather does not cooperate, the ceremony can be moved inside at no extra charge, if the space is available.

Scheduling a Ceremony:

Depending upon the room that is selected, we offer a 3.5 hr time block on Saturdays for ceremonies. Ceremonies can be scheduled during the week and on Sundays, if the requested space is available. Generally, rehearsals are scheduled for the Friday evening preceding the event. Contact our hospitality and event coordinator to discuss details.

Please note: Weddings are not scheduled at Holy Wisdom Monastery during Holy Week (the week leading up to Easter), on Easter Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Planning a Ceremony
Couples make their own arrangements for a pastor, minister, priest, rabbi, justice of the peace officiant or ceremonialist. We have a list of people available to conduct the ceremony, if help is needed to find an officiant. If assistance is needed to design a ceremony, our ceremony coordinator has sample ceremonies to share.
