St. Benedict’s Strategy for Personal Freedom
The Oblates of Holy Wisdom Monastery invite you to attend a weekend Benedictine Retreat at the monastery. This retreat is open to the public and oblates and offers women and men an opportunity to learn about Benedictine spirituality in a beautiful, peaceful setting.
The retreat explores St. Benedict’s strategy for interior freedom as it appears in the Rule of Benedict and how it can apply today. Jerome Kodell, OSB leads the retreat and presents themes of Mutual Obedience, Murmurings on the Spiritual Journey and Prayer of the Heart.
Holy Wisdom Monastery is located in Middleton, Wisconsin on 130 acres of restored prairie, savanna, wetland and woods. The Benedictine Sisters who live at the monastery follow the Gospel and the Rule of Benedict and invite guests to come for retreats, meetings, events, weddings, memorial services, prayer, Sunday worship, spiritual and environmental programs, volunteer opportunities and nature walks. Meals served at the monastery are made from scratch and use ingredients from the monastery gardens. Overnight accommodations are available on a first come, first served basis for an additional fee.
